  Road Track Times

  Oval Track Times
*All Times Eastern Time Zone (GMT)
*All times are estimate and may change

Check-In:  We will begin check-in Mon evening.  You can also check-in Tue, Wed, and Thu.  This is when you get your handouts, pick up your free stuff, etc.

Practice
:  Most all of practice will be controlled.
*Tue will be open/controlled practice per class. Schedule is based on number of entries per class.  Stock practices with stock, etc.  Times will be at race.
*Wed will be practice by heats and an open/speed round.  Tentative schedule is a two hour open/speed practice and two controlled practice rounds by heats.
*Thu will have open/speed round practice before qualifying begins.  This also helps groove the track for racing.  We will have '1st timer' practice (see below).
*Practice by Heats on Wed Heat races are setup and practice is controlled based on the heat lineup.  Heat #1 is practice #1, heat #23 is practice #23, etc.  Racers run with the drivers in their heat race.  After each practice, drivers marshal the next practice heat race.
*Speed Rounds
.
This is for when time is limited, and allows racers a chance to get on the track and turn some laps. These are short 1 minute runs and 10 cars at a time hit the track (they are not separated by class). You can make a small change and run a few laps to see how your car handles.  Lots of cars can run in this time frame.  We will have speed round practice before the heats start on Thurs, Fri, Sat and Sun.

'1st Timer' Practice:   Can't get here until Thursday?
We understand that starting the event a day earlier may be a burden on some racers.  Before the qualifying begins on Thursday, we are adding an hour of open practice, before the regular hour of open practice, just to the racers that arrived too late to run Tuesday and Wednesday.  This will get you on track a few extra times at least before we start the heat racing.  Remember you still get four rounds of qualifying along with practice before Friday and Saturday, so there is a lot of chances to get a good run in.  More details on this to come.

Qualifying:  Qualifying begins on Thursday this year.  We have stagger starts for both Oval & Road heats.  Each driver will be on their own race clock.  There will be re-sorts for Oval & On-Road.  There will be a re-sort after round 2 and round 3.  This is a new heat line-up based on the previous qualifying results.  Faster cars end up qualifying together.  We take your best single qualifier to set the mains. There are four qualifiers and one main event.  The top nine cars are locked into the A-main.

  NEW STUFF for '07

Racers voted for it, and we are doing it.  Club races are dropped and we are adding another round.  Now you have four heats with two resorts!  We also will be bringing back bump-up B-main's.  This will greatly add to the excitement of the event and make for a better, relaxed racing schedule.

'BUMP N RUN' Saturday
The top nine drivers will now be locked into the A-Main.  Qualifiers 10th-19th will compete in the B-Main, which will be run Saturday after the last heat race.  (B-main roads after last road race, B-main ovals after last oval race).  Winners of the B-mains will be able to advance into the A-mains, which will be raced on Sunday.  They will start in the 10th starting spot.  We did bump-ups in year three of the 'birds!  This adds a ton of excitement!

An All New 'Speed Week' Schedule
This will be the first carpet Snowbirds that has four qualifiers!  It will also be the first one that has two resorts (after round 2 and round 3).  There are plenty of chances now to advance and make a higher main.  The new race format will now allow for a more relaxed racing schedule.  Road days are now the same all week (morning and afternoon) and Oval days are now the same all week (afternoon and evening).  We will be done early on Saturday this year as the all new 'BUMP N RUN' Day will be shorter, with only one heat of oval and one heat of road to run.  Sunday now also will be shorter since the B-mains will have been run on Saturday.  This will free up about two hours.  Track also will be closed this year after the heat racing on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.  After the last oval heat the track is closed.  We are excited about this change and addition, and hope you are too!  Racing ought to be FUN!  Be a part of it!
